Map Your King: Design Your Own Tour

During Jane's Walk, we want to invite you to #MapYourKing!​

We're giving you the tools you need to run your own Jane's Walk, anytime, anywhere, in communities across King Township.

Self-Guided Jane's Walk

1. Grab some art supplies, a sheet of paper, and draw out your community! Pick some points on your map, and a route to follow. Are there places that you love to visit? What stories can these locations share?

2. Go for a walk with a friend, family member, or neighbour. While you're in the area, talk about it. What can you see, smell, touch, feel? Does anything look different, or has it stayed the same? What things surprise you?

3. Write a blurb about your walk, draw a map/art piece, or take a picture during the walk!

4. Don't forget to tag us in your posts so we can see & share! 🖌️🎨 #JanesWalkKing #MapYourKing

1. Take a picture of a place you love during your self-guided Jane's Walk, or during a Jane's Walk event!

What is a Jane's Walk?

Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours.
